Cherry Blossoms

It's our first Spring in DC, and that means cherry blossoms.
I have to admit, the festival has been one thing I've been looking forward to ever since we found out we were moving down here. Sadly, it actually SNOWED the first weekend of the festival, and the weather has pretty much sucked ever since.
Sunday morning I woke up to sun and ok temperatures, so we decided to head into the city that afternoon. Honestly? Bit of a disappointment. The sun vanished, the blossoms had already gone from bright pink to a dull gray and the crowds were pretty ridiculous. Despite being overall bummed...it was still a nice afternoon. DC is a really pretty city, and seeing so many trees in bloom all at once was still really pretty.
I did manage to shoot a few photos, mostly of my boys, which was a bit of a triumph considering the amount of people.
The blossoms:

I'm pretty sure they taught us NOT to juxtapose stuff like this in Photo 101, but oh well, it made me happy:

And of course, my good little Irish boy:

There was a little....boy?

who had a little curl, right in the middle of his forehead.

New kicks

I'm honestly surprised he even held still long enough for me to take this picture.

He's calling them his "skateboard shoes" and has worn them almost every day since they arrived in the mail...even over his footie pajamas.

I have to admit it's fun to pay homage to my punk rock years, even if it's just in my choice for my 2 year olds footwear.

Don't call it a comeback

Neglect. Yep, I'm guilty of it. My excuse? New baby, new city, new just about everything...

So it's been a hectic year, but not all bad. 15 months after my last post I find myself a Mom to 2 beautiful baby boys, living with my wonderful husband in Alexandria, Virginia and getting back into finding time for "me" and the things I enjoy. It's funny, but I've recently been trying to get back into Photography, and the more time I spend with it, the more I feel like myself again.

So I'll leave you with a few of my favorite photos to commemorate the craziest year of my life, and you might be seeing a lot more of me from now on.

À bientôt.

Skating at Fenway Park

Had the opportunity to go ice skating at Fenway Park yesterday. It was cold and a long day for a Toddler, but Nolan loved skating on the ice with Dad.
